Regarding Snff II

So, I've been thinking really hard about Snff II. I know there are alot of fans, and I know the story is good...but...I've had this nagging sense that something's not right. I got so far with the story, then I started writing something else, the Prisoner series, in the same type of narrating style.

There it is. I can't take a story like Snff, light, funny and full of UST, and suddenly change the narration style and make it a drama. Doesn't work that way!! I instinctively knew this but I'm too dumb to listen to instincts sometimes.

Sooo...after a lot of hard thinking, and a night of sitting down with Snff II...I'm going to pull the story on ff.net. Yep, that's right, I am going to take away the 3 or so chapters I had up, it just doesn't work. I may rewrite what I had there for another story.

Instead...I am writing another Snff II, in the format of the original Snff. I have 3 chapters done already and a plot layout, so I know I can see this through to the end. I'll try to get it at least halfway before I start putting it up. I believe that's a fair compromise...and I think people will like it. Again, what's being pulled may become a story of its own, I will play around with it in the future. It is a great story, it's just not Snff.

I'll keep posting updates as to when this actually happens :-) hope no one's mad. That's the great thing about writing like this...I have a chance to fix mistakes.

One chapter will be posted on fanfiction.net to draw awareness; however, the rating is NC-17 with mature subject matter, and therefore I have decided to make the contents available on a website devoted to the series. A short summary is available on the entry page. This story is a trilogy, and is written from three view points. The tone of story telling is set more to my 'Snff II', and even though it is unrelated and deals with a different plot and situation entirely, I consider it to be a companion piece to the original Helix Volume 1 story: 616 Laura, and the child Sarah, in a sense. Look for it coming soon. As always, ads will be posted in all chapter updates for current stories, and I will post chapter 1 of Prisoner: Y shortly.

This is actually a pretty good depiction of Laura from the Helix series. Her expression is just right. Normally X-23 is drawn looking a bit too serious, as Laura (in Helix) has quite a wild, sarcastic sense of humor (often her downfall). In a way, I guess you could see the resemblance between her and Logan. They're not identical, but I've written many moments where they 'click' and you can see that she is his clone.

prequel, but there is hint of a Young X-men movie.

Holy fuck! Seriously, I might go fangirl if they did this. I'm not kidding, I'd be super excited.

Man, if they did do it, they better make sure the actor for Hellion is hot.

Cable #13: Picked it up today, little bit of an interesting Laura scene--she approaches Hope,
asks her if she is okay, says she knows how she feels (regarding trauma). I'm not sure if it was her being written wrong by the writers (not K&Y) or if it's part of the overall plot. Either way, very interesting...

Helix: Angry Hellion

I got out the pencil (gasp) and did these while blabbing away to my far-away lover on the phone. First is an angry Hellion, in his awesomes New X-men uniform (the second one). It is simply awesomes, that costume. I didn't draw his jacket but I always picture him having it in the Helix series...it's like Angel/Spike and their trenchcoats from BtVS.

WTF? Why does Firefox say 'didn't' is spelled wrong? o.o

Here is the lovely X-23, in her Helix outfit:

All gray areas are red (the X on her chest, her gloves, her belt, on her boots); the darker shades are black. I don't believe either of these particular pictures will be colored; I'll do another in the future of Helix Laura in uniform that I will color. And possibly/probably the Shrimps.

Wow, that was an open-ended issue of X-force. And...they got Surge too! O NOES! >={

As I've been saying on the comicvine forum (I'm k2, posting in the hellion forum) there are probably dozens of ways they can avoid killing the two. The greatest one is that Cyclops knows
about them and hopefully sends a team to save them...and the X-men have the cure for Legacy,
don't they? Maybe maybe!

Hey, at least we got to see Logan confirm that Laura's body signs 'lit up' when she heard Keller's name. I hope they save him! There's probability that they will, now that Boom-Boom was the one to die. lol, I never liked Tabitha (ever since the Manifest Destiny mini with that weird story about her and that no-name criminal). She just...annoyed me. I actually said 'yessss!' when I saw her getting poked with the needle. Sorry to any who like her.

On an unrelated note...I am in the process of updating the helix website. I've decided...since helix is my dominant story, I will build the website around it and its characters. I was listening to slip ka-not (as my boyfriend pronounces it), and I got to doodling on my computer...I used comic pictures to relate to the helix story (I found a whole bunch of images that sort of fit with the categories). I'm making the site into Laura's family album, of a sorts. It's worth a visit already--no new content, but the buttons are really cool and sort of content in themself!

And, I'm off to fanfic.net to post another helix chap before bed. Cheerio!

He's the guy in the first page. Very nice drawing. Some people on the comicvine boards say that the last page looks like Laura senses him and will probably save him. I'm half-and-half on this---they might use him dying to develop her character more...or she might save him...it would be such a sucky way for him to go out, being one of the Leper Queen's Legacy targets (I read issue 12, and she kidnapped 2 other mutants and caused their powers to overload with a Legacy injection). Hellion fits this frame of power a tad too well...plus the thugs vanning him in the picture are Leper Queen's (same gear, same people). The only question now is will Laura get there in time. Ohh...they might make her kill him (the X-force team instructed her to kill a guy who blew up on the end of issue 12 but she couldn't get there in time).

In other notes, on the bus home I had a major helix plot thing that's going to tie everything together, adding another smaller plot, and a plot that explains why everything happened like it did. I'm quite pleased =D now it's a matter of typing the volumes to that point...mwahaha

( It's funny, I get upset at Kyle/Yost (the single entiety, yes) killing Hellion...but when I do it... ;)

OOohh, I'm excited. I bought the Hellions miniseries on eBay and it just arrived. Unfortunately, I have 2 exams tommorow--one of which involves organic chemistry--and a couple lab reports etc etc, so it'll be a bit till I can read it :(

Thanks for the links Laura K. It looks like a really bad day is coming up for Hellion...I'm 99.9% positive I'm not going to like X-force #13 now. Too many bad rumors.

I haven't, actually, liked X-force's handling of Laura all that much. It's weird because it's Kyle and Yost; she's their character, and so far they've developed her beautifully. But it almost feels like she's targeted to be the comic relief for the team or something...mostly how the other people treat her (Wolverine, Domino).

Story wise: Was gonna post chapter 90 of Helix, but fanfiction.net is being an asshole. Snff II, I haven't dropped but am deciding where I want the story to go from there (I like to have an overall plot formed before I post chapters so I don't get lost). Cowpie II I'm going to pick up again, I have the plot nice and clear and it's a matter of having time to work with it. mOBSCENE will get another chapter posted when fanfic feels like being mature about things.

Big things coming for Helix, as I said before. Everyone's going to be tested to breaking point and it remains to be seen if Hellion and X-23 can stick it out together. The Shrimps have their own plots going. Seeds of all the plots (almost all) are already planted in the chapters published, they're minute details that might not be caught. Mwahaha. There's like 4 major plots already in motion, and another big one coming up that might not be expected.

Also, I've been playing around with a New Mutants/Academy X era story: what it would have been like if X-23 had joined early on. This was inspired by a discussion board post I read where someone mentioned that DeWeir and Phillipes had planned on introducing her to their lineup. So I decided I would try that and see where it goes. I did a bit of it already and it's quite fun--more of the Snff feel to it, very highschool-y. I haven't even titled it yet.

Back to cramming! Cross your fingers that I don't flunk everything! x.x

Cool. This is old news of course...but I found an interview that detailed (from Yost) about Hellion, what they were trying to accomplish with him. Of course I don't know who Sawyer is, as I don't watch Lost, but I understood a few words there.

So yes the plot wheels keep turning...so far I have a total of 4 more volumes planned after Vol 3...probably more! And it's not just helix-y, it's quite action packed, huge storyline that spans all the volumes. Beat that, K & Y! Mwahaha! Yes I need to be quiet now.

I'm really not liking the rumors about Hellion's appearance in X-force #13. He's either going to die or have something traumatic happen. Or, you know, he'll drop by the X-men HQ to pick up his mail. It could go either way...

Actually the name-thing is intentional, but not a major plot concern. Laura calls him 'Keller' for the most part, but will call him 'Julian' on rare occasion when she's being 100% serious. Or comforting him. Like a parent might use a child's full name. Just one of those little things...

It does bring to mind though that she has a tendency to revert to 616 X-23 when confronted with extreme stress. It's a natural reaction for her--the best examples were 1) 50-52 'the mark has been made' to 'we're in this together', and 2) 55 'broken'. I'm sure more instances will come up.

Also: Vol 2 ends with Chapter 80 (a wee little chapter).

Haha, can't tell if you're mad or just saying. Buuut in either case...that is not so! I can't tell too much--plot surprises and all, but Julian is not Cable. He's just Madelyn Pryor's son. In this story, Madelyn Pryor did not have Cable for a son--she just had Rachel (Summer's daughter, who died, and it's safe to say now that she sacrificed her), Julian (William Keller's son) and James (also William's son).

On recons:
I've decided to not 100% recon, so I've borrowed some elements from the comics re: family connections, etc, but I haven't kept everything totally true. I mean, this is Julian's AU that he created anyway...so some details are understandably different. Makes it a funner, fresher story. I just enjoy connecting some elements with comics (I've heard from some people before *coughstraycough* that they hate recons). I don't like total recons either...and Volume 1 of Helix was running on a track where I had to recon a bit too much to keep the story running; I prefer Vol 2 because it's more open. I did recon a fair amount with some storylines, but then I tossed in a whole bunch that came from who-the-fuck-knows-where. I get alot of my ideas on the bus and walking home. I had another one today about the Shrimps--I totally pictured it. Bad thing is when I start laughing in public with no visible reason to be laughing... o.o

Soo I had the idea to make a blog, just for helix stuff! Handy way to relate notices about new stories, excuses for why I'm not posting on stories, updates to website, etc. etc. Also to post teasers on upcoming stories. And stuff like that! Good shits!

~First off:

(Kidding =P). The reason I haven't posted it...really busy right now...I have 2 finals coming up, 2 courses I have to deal with that are not done, a knitting project (gift for bf),
tutoring, and I have to prepare for my trip...I'm going to Iowa to see the guy for 2 weeks yaaay. The only reason I've been still posting chapters lately is they were written
pre-busy season. Cowpie II does not have more chapters to post, but I will get back to it once I return from my trip and I start my new courses (there's usually a nice dead
period for about a month when the new ones start X-D)"

~Second off:
I have heard that it's been confirmed: Hellion is showing up in X-Force #13, and actually making an appearance. I hope it's true! I'd be dying for March to come (when it should be out), except I've got so much crap to do between then and now that I actually dread passing time. o.o

~Third off:
Before wham! heavy season hit, I started on another story~Coma Black, an AU House of M story. Pretty cool, I like how it reads so far. 4 chapters are done.

~Fourth off: Wow, the Helix series suddenly got all sorts of plots. I actually have a pretty intense plot for volume 3 + a majorly intense plot that binds together a whole bunch of volumes. (Yeah vol 2 is done). Pretty fun!

~Fifth off: I've decided that pencilling the entire Helix series would be far more work than I am capable of. Yes, I admit defeat. I write about ten times faster than I can draw. Buuut I love drawing, so I've decided (perhaps in summer, when I might -gasp- have two months off!) write a special story just for a comic, like a little 4-shot or something. That might be something I am capable of. STOP FUCKIN UP THE INKS BITCH! X.x I usually talk to my guy while I'm drawing and then he laughs his ass off as I drop huge blots of ink everywhere. I'm like 'ummm, I meant for that! It's...uh...a decorative hole. They got shot! No, wait, it's a blackhole power!' Yeah right.

Time 2 go advertise this blog on fanfic :-)
